I'm starting over on my weight tracking...
Here are the weeks that I had from when I started October 6th 2011
High Weight: 229.6
Low Weight: 187.0
Week 1: 192.8
I’ve realized the reason it’s been so hard for me to stick with this thing is because I’ve been doing it for ALL the wrong reasons.
I just wrote a paper on body image for my cultural studies class…and I’ve been doing it to obtain “that” body.
You know. The smaller, ideal body that so many people want, and so many people say you’re not beautiful if you don’t have it.
But I need to get back on my healthy track.
I’ve been eating like shit. Nothing too crazy…nothing to make me gain an ungodly amount of weight. But it’s bad enough that it’s affecting not only the way I feel physically, but my mood also.
So I’m done. I have gotta start doing something. I’m tired of being unhappy because my diet is so incredibly unbalanced and I’m spending the days sitting on my ass instead of running.
Running really does make me happy.
Back to the right reasons. Just gotta get my head to stay there.
I can and I will do this. I have to.
I need to FEEL better.

I don’t currently belong to a gym. Just run outside and walk as much as I have the energy for at the moment.
I will probably be doing just that since my gym is gonna be closed for the next four days while they put new flooring down!
Any way we can get it right?!

I have class until 4:15 and then I work at 5 and I’m scheduled until 9…but I usually stay until 9:30. I think I might just get less sleep and go running. Because the thought of missing it actually makes me sad. I never thought I’d be sad about missing a run.
Also! My roommate and I are planning to run a 5K in April for the Murrah Bombing Memorial.
I’m excited! It gives me about six months to build up to a 5K…I’m betting that I can make it before then though.

I bought some in bulk today.
I cooked it in my rice cooker and it cooked up nicely…but I have no idea how to prepare it! I’ve looked up some recipes and what not…but I’m not sure what I want to do with it really.
I’ve had it in curry and it was pretty tasty.
What are your favorite ways to prepare quinoa?

I stopped caring what I ate and I stopped working out. Yesterday my friend called and asked if I would work out with her…I told her I was on the way to Natural Grocers if she wanted to come with me and we could work out after so we went.
I spent $30 there…which got me a total of 16 items..lots of fruits and veggies, hummus, peanut butter, cage free eggs, yogurt, and veggie burgers.
Then we went to the gym. I got on the scale for the first time since May. I had gained 8 pounds from my last weigh in. 10 from my lowest weight.
I was completely devastated. I know it’s all my own fault and I have no one to blame but myself. But I know that I can turn this around.
I have been eating better the past week or so anyway, I was just scared to weigh myself.
But I worked out last night and then I got up at 5:45 this morning to go for a jog. I did a mile, my time was 14:25…which isn’t great..but is pretty good considering I haven’t worked out much since May…and also my knee is giving me some problems…I’m going to have to get a brace.
AND, I’m going to try to go vegetarian. Today is my first day. We will have to see how this goes.
I’m ready to be back. I’m ready to make this commitment.

This is normally a problem for me…I never can manage to just eat part of my meal.
But today I went to dinner with my roommate and a couple of our friends. We went to this amazing Italian place that we all love. I got pesto tortellini and it comes with a piece of bread. And I realized I never take time to actually stop and taste my food, I just keep shoveling more food in.
So today I decided to try something different. I made myself chew each bite slowly and taste every flavor (their pesto is AMAZING by the way.) And then I made myself take a drink of water after every single bite. By the time I was totally stuffed, I had eaten less than half of the pasta that was there and I ate the whole piece of bread! So I’ll have some for lunch or something tomorrow. :)
I think it will all be okay, I was okay on points and I worked out twice today, so I’m sure it all evens out!

I went to a spinning class…
I only made it half way through before I had to stop. I was getting shaky, I don’t think I ate enough…and it’s possible that I have low blood pressure (my cousin checked it a week or so ago while I had just been sitting there and it was lower than normal…not a lot, but still).
I’ve never felt this tired in my whole life.
It probably doesn’t help that I did the elliptical for 20 minutes and the treadmill for 15 minutes before I started the class. (also the equipment is WAY better at the school gym than at the apartment complex gym…Idk if I can go back to to apt gym!) I did about 1.9 miles on the elliptical, .85 miles on the treadmill and like 8.9 miles on the bike…I know it’s not as much as I did yesterday, but I definitely worked harder today than I did yesterday. I think I can really get into this gym thing again.
